adding extra principal to loan payment

hOW does one add an extra amount of principal to a loan
payment and get it to show in the right place?

You could create a withdrawal from the account you're paying, using the
category 'principal transfer' and selecting the account in question from the
second drop down (if using the two box category/subcategory view).
