|
|
Hi,
I am using MS Money 2003 UK (V11.0) and am experiencing problems with the
reconciliation of downloaded statement items. The problem started some 6
weeks ago around (or at the same time, I am not exactly sure which) that I
added a new account to my Money file. Basically, I can download statement
items as previously without problems, the Money Import Handler assigns them
to the correct account and the page detailing all of the accounts to balance
then shows the correct number of items allocated to each account for
reconciliation. Clicking on an account to reconcile the items opens the
account register but then, nothing, the reconciliation process does not
start at all! I do not get any error messages and otherwise Money seems to
function as it did before. I have noticed that when I look at the account
register for the recently opened account, there is no downloaded items
summary in the top left of the page, as there is with all of the other
accounts that I reconcile from downloaded items. Money has never downloaded
items for this account although the account is set to download with the bank
concerned(NWB).
Would be grateful for any help that anyone can shed on this problem for me.
It's not a serious thing but not being able to reconcile from downloaded
items I find inconvenient to say the least!
Thanks,
Brian Watkins

Is that the Account List you are looking at? Does it say you have
Transactions To Read? Then you are clicking where it says you have
TransactionsToRead, and don't get the transactions?
If so,
==============================
Close Money.
In Internet Explorer delete your browser temporary files with
Tools->InternetOptions->DeleteFiles or
Tools->InternetOptions->Delete->DeleteFiles.
Open Money with Start->Run and entering
"msmoney -s" without the quotes into the box.
Then go to Tools->Settings->OnlineServiceSetting and
select ShowStandardizedPayeeNamesForWhichANameIsNotFound. This
is a global (inter-file) setting.
Download again.
=========================================
If that does not match with what you are describing, then this may
not apply.

Thanks for the quick reply and apologies for not responding earlier -
Christmas and all that...........
I am looking at the account list and have tried what you suggested and it
all works again, thanks ! By the way, there were no errors reported in my
Money file during the repair.
I have one slight oddity now (and that was there previously to this
reconciliation problem). When I download items and all of the
reconciliation has been done, two of the accounts show that I still have a
minus number (-3) of items to reconcile! This I think was caused by
previously downloading items in the same date range twice. Any idea how I
can get rid of these please?

I don't know. I guess I would try balancing again.
And I would again open Money with Start->Run and enter
"msmoney -s" without the quotes into the box. It won't hurt.
I might also consider making a level 2 repaired version of my file
with salv.exe.
There is an older version in you install folder I think, and this
has a way to get a newer one:

Ok, thanks, will give all that a go. If it doesn't work, then it's not too
serious to live with!
