Hi There

I am a UK user and I have been using MS Money since 98. I like the program
and have had various versions. I have been using Money 2002 for a few years.
I have around 9 years of transactions on various accounts.

My question is that I am wondering whether to upgrade or not. Whilst I am
happy with my current version there are some concerns:
1) I will be moving from XP to Vista soon, and am not sure if Money 2002
standard is compatible with Vista.

2) I am worried about upgrading too late. Because I have about 7-8 accounts
over 9 year there is a lot of data I do not want to lose. However I am
concerned that if I leave it too late to upgrade I will find that I can not
upgrade. This would be a nightmare! Please advise if it is worth upgrading.

Many thanks in advance for any help and support offered.

Adrian

I have the very same problem - have been using MS Money since 1994, gone
through many versions and stopped upgrading after 2002 because of the
discontinuing of custom currencies. After 2004 alledgedly there has not been
a decent UK version (and after 2005 there has not been any UK versions). I
use actively pensions, loan and other worksheets that need UK specific data,
is anyonw heard of any hope for UK localisation of MS Money again?

I have tried many later US versions and other personal finance software and
none comes ven close to MS Money Financial Suite UK.... US version dos not
even allow me to enter direct debits (or any other kind of automatic
payments) if tere is no integrtion with my bank (and with UK bnk naturlly
there isnt any)

What do have others done? Just upgraded to US version?

Yet another "I have the same problem" post. I've been using Money since
1998, I have lots of data in Money 2004 and I'd like to upgrade but there
doesn't seem to be a UK version. Also, the online updating of share prices
has got very flakey in the last few months.

Can anybody from Microsoft give any suggestions on what the right thing to
do is? There seems to be 3 options
1) Keep using 2004 until it breaks for some reason.
2) Upgrade to the US version of money (which will probably be a royal pain)
3) Just switch to quicken.

The only current version of UK Money is 2005.

As you say converting to the US version is a right PITA and you lose a lot
of data in the process.

Quicken have withdrawn from the UK market and a quick trawl through Amazon
has Q2002 as the latest. Lots of books about later versions but they refer
to the US version AFAIK.

Hi All

Many thanks for giving me your views. I think basically the situation is
looking grim. For myself the best thing to do would be to export all of my
accounts and bills into excel format or CSV. Therefore my next question is:

:: Is there a method of exporting each account into CSV files so that I can
export into excel? If this is not possible is there an add on that can be
downloaded that will convert the files so that I can import into excel?

Many thanks again to all of you for your time and effort.

Do not worry.

Stick with Money 2002.

Money 2005 is worse than Money 2002. Specifically in respect of Online
Services and in respect of Budgets.

Microsoft may do ANYTHING in the future and neither you (nor I) have any
control over them - there is no point chasing rainbows. In theory it would
be very easy for them to make a new Operating System that deliberately
blocked old Microsoft applications from running - and. as far as I know,
that would not be illegal (but commercially it would be rather 'high risk').

Money 2000 runs on Vista Home Premium.
