Investment and cash transactions

My broker's accounts have two registers: Investment Transactions and
Cash Transactions.

The settings for these accounts specify: Account name, Financial
institution, Account number, US currency, Favorite account, Track cash
transactions, Account name (Cash), and Account number.

For reason(s) I do not understand, updates are recorded only in the
transaction registers but not in the corresponding cash registers.

Cash in Investment Account I successfully downloaded one portfolio from Cdn. bank (TD) and all the stocks and mutual funds migrated correctly to the Portfolil Mgr. BUT the cash in this Acct. went to ?Banking-cash and does not show in the Portfolio. This is a RIF A/c (like a 401K)
