Hi there

I'm using the Advanced Budget and the budgeted amount for my gas bill
is stuck on £18 even though the associated recurring bill is £32.

There doesn't seem to be anywhere to edit the budgeted amount and
therefore Money keeps telling me I am overbudget.

How do I increase the budgeted amount please?

Thanks and best wishes

Max

Thanks Glyn.

The solutions suggested there seem to be for 2002 and 2007, but not
for my version 2005. For example, it suggests Resetting the Budget
which doesn't seem to be an option I can find. (I did try setting an
end date for the bill series, deleting it, and then re-creating, but
this hasn't helped. I also installed all the patches)

Actually Glyn, maybe the question is more fundamental. If one wants to
enter a budget amount for a category, my understanding is that it can
be done in 2 ways:

1. Double clicking the category and choosing an amount which recurs
weekly, monthly, etc
2. Via Autobudget

I used autobudget which has set the budget amount for my gas bill to
£18 based on past transactions, but gas has now risen to £32 a month
and I have changed the recurring bill to reflect this. So I guess the
issue is how does one undo an autobudgeted amount?

Well, autobudget only provides numbers for the budget and adds them if you
so wish. You should be able to run autobudget again, see the new values and
reinsert them (you can be selective and just choose the gas category - it
doesn't cause old autobudget-added entries to be removed). It might be worth
trying this on a copy of the file to make sure, before using your live file.

Budget amount is 0 Glyn, I have read your answer (pasted below) about what to do when you have added a budget amount and it only shows up in next month's budget (i.e. not this month's). Can I confirm, firstly, that my situation is what you are both referring to? I have just
