I have downloaded my statement (.ofx format) from Alliance & Leicester
(bank). When I import it I get the following message: File Import:
Your statement contained a default currency (GBP) which was unrelated to the
currency of the account 'Alliance & Leicester Current'. Money does not
support statements containing unrelated default currencies.
Have I set something up wrong or not set something up that I should have
done? Is there a way round this error?
The account has 'Pound' as the currency.
The offending parameter reads GBP

See http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/38.aspx - it's a little buried in
there, so I'll separate it into a new article.

Thanks. That has resolved the initial problem. I have changed all of the
accounts to British Pound. However in my Investments where there are shares
and cash the Transactions are still in 'Pound' whilst the Cash is 'British
Pound' (View in 'Your Portfolio'). To make sure I've gone back into editing
the accounts, set the currency to 'Pound', converting everything to 'Pound'
and clicking 'Done' followed by the same steps but back to 'British Pound' -
but no change. As a result I can't delete the 'Pound' currency.
Cliff
PS I don't have the Planner Currency default set.

If everythign you can find is now in British Pound, then there will be
something well hidden. Perhaps a closed account or old investment - they
will take a while to find, but if you can now download statements, then
you're halfway there to removing the curreny.

Thanks again. I have made progress in identifying some closed accounts. I've
been through every line in the Account List report (What I have/Account
Balances with Details) and found about a dozen cases where I have now reset.
I am still unable to delete the currency. Do you have any further suggestions
for other cases?
Thanks
Cliff

Following on from my reply yesterday I have noticed that in the Portfolio
view the 'Shares' part shows up as 'Pound' and the 'Cash' part as 'British
Pound'. Clicking on the 'Change Account Details' shows the currency as
'British Pound'. I tried deleting the transactions and then reentering them
but it still shows 'Pound'. I can't see anywhere to change the Investment
part. Do you have any suggestions?
