Hi there,
I've been running Microsoft Money V12 (which I think is Money 2004) for
several years.
Recently I've been unable to log in using my Microsoft Passport to enable
automatic updates of share prices. This seems to have occurred after I
carried out a recent set of updates for Windows. I'm running Windows XP and
IE6 (not upgraded to IE7 yet).
Is there a global problem with the Microsoft Money update site, or is this
somethign to do specifically with my set up/version?
Thanks, David.

David - I had exactly the same problem just after the MS updates and it went
away and everything was fine for a few days. It started again yesterday for
no reason that I can identify. Perhaps an MVP can assist?

I'm in exactly the same situation. It stopped working the other week,
then worked again for a few days, and stopped again a couple of days
ago.
I'd assume it's a MS problem.

I certainly is.
http://memberservices.passport.com/en-gb
which is where MS Money seems to validate passport details for online
services is unresponsive following their recent work.
I am sure MS will get round to fixing it - eventually...
An announcement would, of course, be too much to hope for.

Many thanks for all the replies.
If it helps I've noticed that you can still go into Money selecting the
option to not use online services... and then select "Update prices online"
manually. This does update share prices even though you're not logged on.
Thanks, David.

to use internet services.
Please can you advise why this is?
Thanks, David.

Could it have something to do with this post on the site Bob provided (it
may have appeared since you posted tbh)
Money 2003, 2004 and 2005 Online Services expiration notification
Effect:
Microsoft® Money versions 2003 and later includes support for online
services for either two or three years. Please refer to your Online Service
Policy (OSP) document, which outlines the length of certain online services
available for your version of Money.
If you receive notification regarding your online service plan and would
like to continue using these online services within Microsoft Money make
sure you take a few minutes to upgrade to Microsoft Money Plus today by
going to http://microsoft.com/money.
Note: If you used prior versions of Money, you should not purchase
´Microsoft Money Essentials¡, because this version is meant for new users,
and will not convert previous Money files.
To access the License Agreement in Money 2003, or the Online Services
Policy in Money 2004 or the Internet-based Services Policy in Money 2005,
go to Help - About Microsoft Money.

Bob,
regarding the termination of online services, the only suggestion is to
upgrade to Microsoft Money Plus. I'm quite happy to do this but I'm a little
worried that this version of Microsoft Money won't handle UK accounts or non
US denominated shares correctly. Can you confirm that Microsoft Money Plus
is suitable for UK users?
Ewan.

Money Plus will not directly read a UK file. You can get there by devious
means but you lose data in the process.
M2005 online services are currently planned to timeout in Dec 09.
MS have had a problem with their passport verification since Dec 17 which
has prevented people signing in. See

Do you mean the occasional "unable to verify your details" login
failure? If so - so far - trying again has always worked.
